We rode through three Balkan countries—Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro—located in Southeast Europe, between Slovenia to the north and Albania to the south.
All three countries offered a mix of dramatic mountain scenery and incredible views of the Adriatic coastline. We hit some of the best mountains in the region, including the Velebit Mountain range, Durmitor National Park, and Lovćen National Park. We utilized parts of the Trans Euro Trail (TET) on our route. Each of these countries was home to numerous small villages, incredible major cities, and many historical sights. We tried to experience a few examples of each, using a mix of tarmac and dirt roads. This Balkan expedition provided an experience of diverse landscapes, cultures, and historical sites.
